I enjoyed probably the best ever lunch I have ever had in any Irish restaurant (Kevin Aherne’s, signature pork dish in Sage Midleton comes a close second), but given the location, the freshness of the Lobster, crab and the sun today, I cannot recommend this wonderful newly re-opened restaurant any more highly.

Fantastic restaurant, with a delicious seafood platter ! Lovely prepared lobsters ! Great view on mullaghmore harbour , the mountains and donegal bay. Probably the most beautiful place in Ireland ( if not the world ahah). Perfect and friendly service 🙂 We will be back!

Eithna’s by the sea is a lovely cosy restaurant. We were seated by a roaring fire and with the wonderful food and great company I could have stayed there all day. I had parsnip and wild garlic soup and a seafood tasting plate, which included crab, lobster, squid and mackerel.
It was like a work of art, it look wonderful and tasted as good as it looked.
We also had seaweed bread and a variety of pestos including a seaweed one, peppers and chilli and a wild garlic one. We also had roasted seaweed which tasted like really good quality crisps…just amazing!
Eithna sources most of her produce locally, in fact the lobster came from Mullaghmore Sea Farms which is located just across the road from Eithna’s. You can’t get more local than that. Val Robus (Magnum Lady)
Seafood Heaven in Mullaghmore! Ate here tonight and it was simply excellent. Mexican spiced squid starter was delicious and the taster seafood platter (mains) is perfectly sized for one. Locally sourced ingredients and couldn’t be fresher – could not fault anything.
Homemade desserts were a perfect finish too (loved the chocolate nori meringue). Service was great too, friendly and efficient. Nice too that the owner takes an interest in her guests. Highly recommend Eithna’s, looking forward to a return visit.

The seafood taster was delicious, crabs’ claws, the most delicious smoked salmon, prawns and mussels all perfectly prepared and beautifully presented. the most amazing seaweed bread, fresh salad and a perfectly matched white wine.
The staff are welcoming and friendly and there is a lovely atmosphere. We had a table looking out over the sea, it really couldn’t be any better! Thank you for a really enjoyable evening, really looking forward to next visit. From Trip Advisor, Ruth, 2018
Eithna is back! A favourite destination for seafood lovers for many a year, fans distraught by Eithna O’Sullivan’s absence will be delighted to find her old premises on the harbour is teeming with life and her good food once more. And you certainly can’t miss it, as it’s there big and bold – Eithna’s By the Sea attractively painted on the front wall in her trademark style.

Another winner-restaurant: Eithna’s by the Sea, The Harbour, Mullaghmore. Owner Eithna works with local farmers and fishermen, ensuring all ingredients are fresh and seasonal. She is famous for her lobster, crab, shellfish, and seaweed dishes.
Her Seaweed Pesto is to die for.
