Inside Eithnas Restaurant in Mullaghmore Eithna in front of her seaweed pesto Inside Eithnas

Eithna’s by the Sea receives Irish Seafood Restaurant of the Year at the Georgina Campbell Guide awards for 2014 and praised for its use of locally-sourced seafood ingredients, and for Eithna’s willingness to use seaweed in her kitchen.

Seafood soup and salad"I enjoyed probably the best ever lunch I have ever had in any Irish restaurant (Kevin Aherne’s, signature pork dish in Sage Midleton comes a close second), but given the location, the freshness of the Lobster, crab and the sun today, I cannot recommend this wonderful newly re-opened restaurant any more highly".

Inside Eithnas

“Another winner-restaurant: Eithna’s by the Sea, The Harbour, Mullaghmore. Owner Eithna works with local farmers and fishermen, ensuring all ingredients are fresh and seasonal. She is famous for her lobster, crab, shellfish, and seaweed dishes. Her Seaweed Pesto is to die for.
Jasper Ribbers from his book, The Travelling Dutchman

"Eithna is back! A favourite destination for seafood lovers for many a year, fans distraught by Eithna O’Sullivan’s absence will be delighted to find her old premises on the harbour is teeming with life and her good food once more. And you certainly can’t miss it, as it’s there big and bold - Eithna's By the Sea attractively painted on the front wall in her trademark style".

Daily specials board at Eithnas restaurant

"Eithna’s by the sea is a lovely cosy restaurant. We were seated by a roaring fire and with the wonderful food and great company I could have stayed there all day. I had parsnip and wild garlic soup and a seafood tasting plate, which included crab, lobster, squid and mackerel. It was like a work of art, it look wonderful and tasted as good as it looked.  We also had seaweed bread and a variety of pestos including a seaweed one, peppers and chilli and a wild garlic one. We also had roasted seaweed which tasted like really good quality crisps…just amazing! Eithna sources most of her produce locally, in fact the lobster came from Mullaghmore Sea Farms which is located just across the road from Eithna’s. You can’t get more local than that".

"Great food, great service and great location; we decided to head away for the bank Holiday weekend, destination Mullaghmore as my partner used to holiday nearby when he was in his teens, we stayed at the local "Seacrest" B&B (Equally Fabulous) Ask the team in Eithna's for prices. We ate both nights in Eithna's as the food was so good.... quality fresh seafood and steak with the added bonus of BYO and superb desserts, everything cooked daily on the premises. Even though the weather was cold and stormy outside it was a very warm and cosy welcome inside from Eithna and her team. We will return again very soon".
